That’s right, Christmas is in the air. On Sunday, December 9th from 1:00 – 5:00 pm with falling snow, mistletoe and lights all aglow, four local Bed & Breakfast Inns (B&Bs) and four historic churches will open their doors for the 18th Annual Holiday Tour. Sponsored by the Old Colorado City Historical Society, the Tour will benefit this non-profit organization and its 1890 History Center. Built as the First Baptist Church on “church row” in the original Colorado City, the restored History Center contains a museum, research library and bookstore.
The self-guided tour will take you through beautiful properties lovingly converted to Inns and located in the Old Colorado City historic district, Colorado Springs and quaint Manitou Springs. They range in style from Queen Anne Victorian to Arts and Crafts to Upscale Contemporary with varied decorating styles. Start your holiday season with a peek inn-side these historic treasures personally and professionally decorated for Christmas in the Rockies.
Also, three landmark churches in downtown Colorado Springs will open their doors and congregation members will act as hosts pointing out their history, the work of talented artisans and architectural features. Visit St. George’s Anglican Church, First Congregational Church (UCC), and the 1st Christian Church.
Refreshments and gift drawings featuring donations from Old Colorado City Merchants will be held at the History Center on the day of the Tour.
Tickets: Historical Society members $10 in advance or $15 day of the Tour. Nonmembers $20 in advance or $25 day of the Tour. Call for info about group ticket pricing.
