THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN YOUTH CLINICS RECEIVES $35,000 GRANT TO SERVE COLORADO CHILDREN

The Rocky Mountain Youth Clinics (The RMYC) was recently awarded a $35,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation and the Colorado Advisory Council. The grant will be used to further The RMYC’ mission to provide all Colorado children with access to health care regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

“We are so honored and thrilled to have received this generous grant. It will help us tremendously to provide health care to more children in Colorado,” said Dr. Larry Wolk, founder and executive director of The RMYC. “Through this grant many children will now be able to access the health care they need and deserve.”

Graciously donated by the Ronald McDonald House Charities, The RMYC currently owns and operates two Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles. The Care Mobiles are pediatric clinics on wheels that travel to schools and other community sites in low-income neighborhoods, providing care to uninsured children and adolescents. Of the two Care Mobiles, one provides primary health care services while the other provides preventive oral care. The two current Care Mobiles serve seven schools with in the Denver Public Schools system.

This grant will help to fund the creation of a third Care Mobile – making The RMYC the only organization to have three. The plan is for the third Care Mobile to be a permanent staple in the Denver Public School system. The Care Mobile will be available to children the entire week at different schools within the system.
