Ute Pass seeks groups, businesses or individuals interested in attending Ute Pass Elementary's 2011 Health Jam on Tuesday, May 24th from 8:30-11:20! This "Jam" is a celebration of health, wellness and fun summer family activities! We are currently looking for vendors to display information about their goods/services as well as demos including healthy cooking, yoga, Zumba, bike safety and more. Spaces are FREE as well as a FREE A-Z Salad Bar LUNCH for vendors! We currently have 12 more display spaces available for vendors and 17 half hour slots for demos. Vendors have the option to just display or display and demo. There is also the option to continue a demo for more than the 1/2 hour time slot. Demos can be done outside or in the gym. Please contact me if you are interested in attending and we will work out the details! Thanks for making our world a healthy place to live!

Care and Share Food Bank
Cooking Matters works to end childhood hunger by teaching six-week cooking and nutrition courses for families in need throughout El Paso and Pueblo counties. We prepare hands-on recipes each week coupled with nutrition education activities. Participants receive take home materials to practice what they learn. Professionals volunteer their time and expertise to help teach people to make healthy choices on a limited budget.

Comment by Lynette Newton on January 16, 2011 at 6:00pm Rachael's Ribbons of Hope Foundation will be hosting the Annual Running for Rachael 5K run/walk on March 26, 2011 at the US Air Force Academy Falcon Stadium. This is the 4th year for this event, it is a fun but challenging course. The proceeds from this event are donated to the Brain Tumor Institute at Children's National Medical Center for research of pediatric brain tumors. This event is open to everyone; bring the kids and strollers out. Same day registration and check in will start at 9am in the stadium's south parking lot with the run/walk starting at 10am. Awards for top runners, drawing for prizes, and food after the run; goodie bags and t-shirts for paid runners.

There are also registrations available to be picked up at Colorado Running Company on Tejon or their new store in Briargate, Runners Roost on Tejon, Boulder Running Company on Austin Bluffs, Gold's Gym on Union and their new gym on Powers.
Be sure to list a shirt size when signing up, also give us a good contact number in case of weather delays.
This event is on a military installation please do not bring backpacks, bydration packs are allowed.
