FREE VBS!

July 15 - 19 from 6:00-8:15 pm

at Widefield Community Bible Church

Come join us for the ultimate trek through time as we venture out on an Amazon Expedition for VBS 2013.  Gather your gear and lace up your hiking boots as we explore the 7 C’s of history thru songs, crafts, games, goodies, and dramas while trekking through God’s amazing Word.  It will be the adventure of the summer!

Amazon Expedition takes place July 15-19 at Widefield Community Bible Church.  All kids from 4yrs old through 6th grade are welcome to join the FREE exploration from 6:00-8:15 every evening.  Attendees throughout the week can bring the whole family on Friday evening as we celebrate reaching our destination with a BBQ and a closing program for all.

The next PIKES PEAK OPRY SHOW AND DINNER is September 29th at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. Owner and band leader Ronnie Cook was with the Flying W Wranglers for 13 years and now continues to entertain in a different venue. The BBQ meal is excellent. The entire family will enjoy the show with great music and comedy. For prices and times call 719-683-7865.

Are you ready to have a blast?

Then don't miss a nanosecond of Operation Space VBS - the coolest spot in this corner of the cosmos!  At Operation Space, kids will experience a galactic adventure like no other as they enjoy songs, crafts, games, goodies, puppets ... and, most importantly, a close encounter with God's Word.  It promises to be an "out-of-this-world experience!"

Operation Space takes off July 16 - July 20, from 6:00-8:15 pm here at the Space Command Center (Widefield Community Bible Church)

Kids from 4yrs thru 6th grade are welcome to join us for this free adventure. Pre-registration is greatly appreciated! Registration forms are available at the church AND ONLINE at www.widefieldbiblechurch.org (look under the "Ministries" tab at the top of the page)

YES!!!!!  Your kids can still come to our FREE VBS this week - even if they missed Monday and/or Tuesday.  We are having a blast and staying (mainly) cool.  Join us this evening, Thursday and Friday (BBQ for all!) from 6-8 pm.  We are located at Widefield Community Bible Church, 702 Quebec St, in Widefield (between Mesa Ridge High School and Webster Elementary).  Registration forms are available at the church.  Come a few minutes early to get registered and join in the fun!  Open for all kids ages 4 through 6th grade (hey 7th graders - there are a few of you hanging out, too, so don't be shy.  You ARE welcome to join us).  Older siblings are welcome to stay as well as parents/guardians - OR - come back at 8pm and pick up your family members/friends inside the church.  See you tonight!  Call 392-5755 or e-mail widefieldbible@q.com if you have questions.

Calling all kids ages 4 thru 6th grade: Come have fun at our FREE Vacation Bible School coming July 18-22 from 6-8pm.  Don't miss the fun!

 

Come hear exciting Bible stories, play crazy games, learn cool songs, have fun in crafts, and enjoy delicious snacks!

 

Parents/Guardians and Older Siblings are welcome, too.  Participate with your kids (siblings) OR drop them off from 6-8pm at our very well chaperoned event and enjoy a much-needed break.

 

Family Night is Friday, July 22, beginning at 6pm.  ALL family members are invited.  Come hear the kids' program, participate with your kids, and enjoy a FREE Barbeque!

Each “Decorate-A-Duck” purchase is eligible to enter our painting contest.

Just follow these easy steps:

Purchase “Decorate-A-Duck” kit at Knit Wits at 103 S. Main St in Fountain, or ducks can be purchase online* at our website www.knitwitsconsign.com

Decorate your duck using the 8 different color paints included in your kit

Drop off your painted duck at Knit Wits no later than June 1, 2011.

Your duck will be numbered at drop-off and we will take your name and phone number & chosen category so that winners can be notified

(Only ducks purchased at Knit Wits will be eligible for contest)

 

Each entry will be displayed inside Knit Wits as they are submitted.  Our judging panel will decide the winning duck in each of the following categories:

 

Best children’s entry (Age 10 and under)

Best Volunteer Entry

Best overall Entry

Most Original Entry

“Ugliest” Duckling

Best Senior Entry (Age 62 & over)

Best “Self Ducklet”

Oratorical Scholarhip Contests !
WHO:  Students age 19 & under as of 31 Dec 10. Males & Females compete separately. 
WHAT: Optimist Club Oratorical Contests, 4-5 min,"If I were leader of the free world, the first thing I would do is..."  
WHERE: 2 locations ! 
1.  Springs Community Church, 7290 Lexington Drive
2.  Old Colorado City Historical Society, 1 S 24th St. 
WHEN: Tues. Feb 15, 6PM 
WHY:  Assist youth in gaining public speaking experience and provide them with an opportunity to compete for up to $2,500 separate male & female scholarships.  Club level awards $100, $75, & $50 savings bonds for 1st, 2d & 3d places. 
COST:  Free
