Fresh Ink is owned by Freedom Colorado Information Inc., which also
publishes the Gazette and gazette.com. Freedom has its own set of
rules for using our websites, and those rules apply to
csfreshink.com. If you want to read the fine print of our User
Agreement,
In plainer English, here is what those rules boil down to:
We simply require respect and good manners. Use common sense and
you'll feel right at home.
At csfreshink.com, you must use your real name when you set up your
account. Your real name will appear on your stories, your blog
posts, your photos and replies. Some of your contributions,
accompanied by your real name, might be published in Fresh Ink’s
printed editions, and by posting your content to this site, you
give us your permission to do so.
We live by words, so we don't allow obscene, bigoted, or sexually
explicit language. We reserve the right to decide what crosses the
line. We also reserve the right to suspend or terminate the
accounts of anyone who posts such content.
Any harassing notes or postings that might be construed as stalking
will be deleted, and we reserve the right to inform and/or provide
assistance to law enforcement agencies in any way we deem
appropriate.
You are welcome to share the story of your business at Fresh Ink.
If a contribution looks like it ought to be a paid advertisement,
we will remove it and refer it to our advertising department. This
example might help: If you are a real-estate agent, your insights
about the market conditions in the neighborhood are welcome. But a
simple solicitation to hire you will be removed. In other words,
have something to contribute, not just something to sell.
We also don’t permit pitches for get-rich-quick schemes. You may
not suggest, encourage, boast about, or discuss your participation
in, any illegal activity.
You must own any material you post on our site. If you do not own
the article, recipe, song lyrics, artwork, graphic or other
material, you must have written permission from the owner before
you post it here. If you don’t own it, post a link to it.
Beyond your real name, you should never give out any personal
information about yourself or anyone else, and never ask for
personal information from others.
We’re watching what goes on here, but not constantly. You take
responsibility for postings under your identification, and you use
the information provided on this site at your own risk. We take no
responsibility for the content or opinions posted on this site. We
reserve the right to remove any postings (although we have no duty
to do so). If you see any content that you feel violates any of
these rules, please notify us by e-mail.
Bottom line: Use good judgment, remember the Golden Rule, and have
a wonderful time.
Who can use Fresh∙Ink? Anyone on the Web can read stories
here. But, if you want to submit any content, you must
register.
Who writes the stories? Members of our staff will write some
stories and gather links to stories from different places, but
mostly community members like you write the stories and take the
photos.
Is there anything besides the Web site? Fresh∙Ink also is
published in print, once a week, in selected neighborhoods.
How are stories selected to be in the newspaper section of
Fresh∙Ink? The Fresh Ink staff reviews all of the postings
every week and selects material that is topical and of interest to
the neighborhood. Digital photo files should be 1MB uncompressed or
200 dpi at 8x10, and must include information about the date and
place of the photo, and the names of each person whose face is
pictured, from left to right (though there are exceptions: a
picture of a marching band, for example, would not require the
names of every band member in the picture). Writing should be
concise; 250 words is a good limit, and in general, shorter items
will get preference. We can’t double-check your work, so be sure to
verify the spelling of names, and other facts. You are responsible
for the accuracy of your submissions.
How do I get Fresh∙Ink delivered to me? In order to receive
Fresh∙Ink you have to subscribe to The Gazette. Or you can pick it
up, free, at one of hundreds of locations in the neighborhoods
where Fresh Ink is distributed.
How do I get started? Click "Sign Up" and fill out a short
form. Become a member of the Neighborhood in which you live. From
there, it’s all yours.
What will you do with my personal information? Your personal
information you provide to us by registering will not be used by
anyone other than Fresh∙Ink. Rest assured, your personal
information is safe and will not be sold to any other company.
