Rocky Mountain National Park Open Despite Wildfire

Rocky Mountain National Park remains open despite a wildfire burning in a heavily wooded portion of the park.


Fire managers said the fire grew to nearly 900 acres Monday. It was estimated at 888 acres earlier in the day, from the 1,500 acres they estimated before mapping flights were done.

FYI,

My dad was 57 when that story was written and he had recovered from a severe heart attack a year or so earlier.

He died in 2004 at the age of 81 from brain cancer.

My sister who lives in Glen Eagle found the article about my dad!!!!

The writer was Karl Licis and the article was printed on July 19, 1981.

The caption on the article was "Rosy Rewards Wait on Platte."

The caption on the picture of my dad said "Free and Easy."

So glad I could locate it.
