Doug grew up around the world as his dad was in the Army. When his dad retired, they moved to Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, where he attended the University of Akron for his BA and MA.

He has worked in the Washington, DC, area, and for 9 years worked as a Department of Defense employee in Frankfurt, Garmisch and Bad Kreuznach, Germany.

Doug currently works at Fort Carson and lives in Colorado Springs with his wife, Lura Lee Landis, his daughter, Alicia Landis Rule, and golden retriever/lab mix Chelsea.
