Searching for Super Man

"Travis; The calf I observed was at the end of the trailer and was being trampled over by the other cattle as they fell out. When it was all said and done, the thing did not stir. No attempt was made to help it. The door was closed. End of story."

Tejon Street Massacre

At 8:45 this morning I witnessed a tragedy that should never have occurred.While enjoying coffee and a muffin, outside Wooglins Deli on N. Tejon,  now sitting queasily in my stomach  I witnessed what must have been the poorest excuse for cowboys and cowgirls in Colorado, unload a cargo of long horned cattle and calves for use in this weekends extravaganza..Severely over crowded in what appeared to be a thirty foot long livestock hauler, were  more of these poor beasts than it was clearly…See More

Father's Day: Peak Performance

On Sunday, Father’s Day, my daughter, Becky, and I went on an adventure we had long hoped to. She and I set out to climb Pikes Peak, in a 1948 Willys jeep. From the Springs

the vertical climb is around 8,000 ft. to an altitude of 14,110 ft. We would drive the 19 mile Pikes Peak Highway. We took my dog Sade along for the ride. It was not without incident.…

Man Made Drought Ends

Like a stressed foreign aid mission showing up long after the disaster has struck, municipal workers descended on a small patch of city property at the corner of Cascade and Monument this morning to restore the flow of water to severely parched and dry sod, plant life and trees that inhabit the place.
