Christmas in Palmer Lake

It’s Christmastime on the front range and once again Palmer Lake is a fabulous destination to get into the Holiday season and spirit. A must see is Travis Coleman’s Polar Express Train Display! From December 12th thru 30th, Travis and his dad Gary have a fabulous Polar Express train display in the lower level of The Depot Restaurant in Palmer Lake. Veterans Home Run is GO for Sept 8th!

The Pikes Peak Road Runners will host the 7th annual Veterans’ Home Run 5K run/3K walk on Saturday, September 8th, at 8:00 am at South Monument Valley Park.  This section of the park is located just north of Bijou St near the intersection of West View Place and Boulder Crescent Street.  As you know, the affects of the Waldo Canyon fire prompted us to wisely postpone the race from its original June 30th date and Memorial Park location.  We are happy to report “WE are GO for VHR 2012” on…See More

Civil War Reenactment by L-P High School History Class

The Palmer Lake Historical Society and Monument Library will host a very special and innovative Civil War reenactment on Sunday, 29 April at 2:00 PM at the Monument Library in Monument. Students from a Lewis-Palmer High School history class will reenact scenes from the family of Charley H. Morrison, a marine on the USS Brooklyn during the Civil War, reading letters he sent to them as he took part in the war.
