January is National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month!

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and I want to urge women to check in with their healthcare providers and talk about getting a pap test. Through routine pap tests, women can find out if they have any abnormal cervical cells.  It’s very rare that there are any signs or symptoms of cervical cancer, so a pap test is the best of line of defense. When it’s found early, more than 92 percent of women survive cervical cancer.I can’t stress enough how important it is to take the easiest route…See More

FREE Community Prostate Cancer Screening

Men over 40 or with a family history with prostate cancer should get screened.  Talk with your provider or come out for a free screening. When:  Satruday, September 22Time:  8 a.m. -…See More

Mesa Ridge Girls Basketball Team raises awareness for Breast Cancer!

On Thursday, February 2, 2011, The Mesa Ridge High School girls basketball team traded in their traditional jerseys for pink jerseys that they created.  The girls wore pink to help educate the crowd about the importance of routine breast cancer screenings.  At least two of the players have family members who have fought breast cancer. Throughout the night information about screenings were passed out to the crowd and donations were collected that will benefit the American Cancer Society.  The…See More

Hi Michelle and welcome to csfreshink.com. You can add a profile photo and join the "community" where you live or work. Hope you post lots of photos, stories about people or places, and news of events. Please also post about cancer screenings in Nonprofits or other communities and we'll be able to run those in our print editions as long as we have them a week ahead of when screenings are done. Thanks, have fun and enjoy the site!
