About Me

I'm the Fresh Ink reporter/site manager for the Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs areas.

I grew up in Indiana and moved to Colorado Springs with my wife in 2002. We have a 4-year-old daughter and rent a house near the Old North End.

I've been at The Gazette since 2006 and have spent most of that time working in citizen journalism and social media.

Travis,
I added a "blog" yesterday and today I found where to write the "story"..thank you. I added two pictures, but when I open them they are very big. do I need to make them smaller on a photo program before submitting them, as they are so big that I don't think anyone can see them. If I take them off, can I add smaller pictures again, since the story has been posted?
Thanks,
Larry

Hey folks,

Just got word today that my original song, "Too Much Paperwork", will be
featured on the PBS television series, "Roadtrip Nation". The show is
about a group of young teens who travel across the country in a big, green
RV trying to find out what they want to do with their lives. They visit
with different folks who work in various careers as they search for their
own path in life. It is a really cool series, perhaps you have heard of
it.

My song "Too Much Paperwork" will be on EPISODE #5. As soon as I get the
date and time that the episode will air I will let you all know. Woo-hoo!
You can find out more about the show here: http://www.roadtripnation.com.

Honestly, I was quite shocked that they chose that song. As a lot of you
already know, that song features myself on vocals, acoustic rhythm and
lead guitar, and I also performed three electric guitar tracks layered
with all kinds of weird distortion. It is kind of a departure from my
usual folky stuff. I actually recorded FIVE GUITAR TRACKS on that song!
But I think the lyrics represent what a lot of us feel in this fast-paced
world we now inhabit. And, well, I hate paperwork!!!

The song was released on my 2008 album, "Slow It Down, Take a Step Back."

Hi Travis,It's 7:45 pm and I just got throgh posting the rest of the photos and comments about each WWII photo .If you get a chance read some of the bits and pieces that I just found out about a few on these vets.Especially Boswell, POW -Fore,and Roche.I didn't know this earlier so I had to add things tonight to some of their stories. UhOh, I think I am commenting on the wrong page or wall.--------I just heard that Boswell may have been the Pilot in that very publicized picture of the D Day jump by a WWII pilot.Remember the parachute that got stuck on the church steeple? He was also invited to visit the Pres. of France on one of those D Day's. I will know for sure Sunday when I call him if it was him in the picture or the guy that jumped with him.

I wrote a storie about Sand Creeks Winter Percussion Ensemble and attached a photo. This was my first time doing this and want to make sure that I did it right. Can you see the photo that I attached? And what are the chances of this making the paper?

Thank you
