8th Street Alano...Painting the Town!

Paint the Town had the awesome opportunity to paint & dance with 8th Street Alano Drug and Rehab.  8th Street Alano is a local non-profit.  Their mission is to provide a safe and healthy environment for the alcoholic/addict and their families to find recovery.  They are a 15-year-old grassroots organization run and overseen by recovering alcoholics and addicts.

Paint the Town is a locally owned small business right here in Colorado Springs.  The venue offers "Paint Your Own Canvas", a place to be creative.  I had a dream of opening a business where customers could come and express themselves in creative ways.  When I did the market research before opening Paint the Town, I discovered that across the country similar venues were all about painting & drinking alcohol.  My desire was to offer a "family friendly" & "safe for the whole family" venue.  I made the decision not to build Paint the Town around painting & drinking.   The only time alcohol is allowed at Paint the Town is if a "Private Party" is held, meaning we are closed to the public.

Experiencing the fun night with 8th Street Alano, reminded me of how grateful I am I stuck with my convictions of having a family friendly environment.  I saw hope, passion, & freedom in each of the painters.  We painted, we danced, we talked, we laughed, we had a fun night...without alcohol.  I am so grateful  8th Street Alano exists here in the Springs.  They are helping people to be set free from their alcohol & drug addictions.  Paint the Town's logo is based on freedom, a bird cage with no door and a bird flying free.  My hope is to see each one of the 8th Street Alano group set free!
