Discover Goodwill has achieved another a major milestone—the completion of its largest and most successful capital campaign in the non-profits 50-plus-year history, which raised an unprecedented $10 million over the course of 18 months. Fittingly titled the “Paths to Independence” campaign, both monetary and in-kind donations were pledged in support of key programs, services and operations assisting individuals with disabilities and disadvantages in the community. Campaign contributions have been designated for Goodwill’s groundbreaking life skills program, Possibilities; the consolidation of staff and programs at Goodwill’s new Garden of the Gods campus; and a state-of-the-industry tunnel washer for the organization’s Fresh Start Commercial Laundry social enterprise.
The Paths to Independence campaign was conducted in multiple phases and targeted a variety of audiences—including foundations, donors, employees, board members, and the general public. Each phase of the campaign created a ripple effect that expanded the pool of contributors and incentivized others to give. “Ultimately, the success of this historic campaign was due to the overwhelming generosity and diversity of our donors—including lead donations by the El Pomar Foundation and Daniels Fund valued at nearly $6.5 million,” shared Discover Goodwill President and CEO Karla Grazier. “The volume and level of giving by participating organizations and individual donors underscore their faith in and commitment to Discover Goodwill and our mission to help individuals achieve their highest level of personal and economic independence. We are in the business of changing lives, and I want to personally thank each and every donor for their invaluable contributions to this campaign and those we serve!”
Goodwill's Fresh Start Commercial Laundry enthusiastically welcomed
