Discover Goodwill of Southern and Western Colorado is one of 15 non-profits selected by the state legislature to participate in the 2013 “Checkoff Colorado,” a public awareness campaign promoting voluntary contributions to designated charitable organizations. Coloradans preparing 2012 state income taxes have the opportunity to contribute a portion of their returns or payments to the “Goodwill Industries Fund” by simply checking the corresponding box next to the fund’s name and noting an amount.
Contributions to the Goodwill Industries Fund will be deducted from tax refunds or can be included in payments and qualify as a charitable donation for 2013 tax filings. One-hundred percent of contributions designated to the Goodwill Industries Fund will be divided equally between Discover Goodwill and Goodwill Industries of Denver to fund strategic life skills and development programs benefitting tens of thousands of individuals with disabilities and disadvantages in Colorado annually.
