Fountain Valley School Varsity Girls Basketball Coach Records 100th Career FVS Win

Longtime Fountain Valley School of Colorado varsity girls basketball coach Paula Walter recorded her 100th career win at FVS Tuesday night with a 27-19 defeat of Hanover.

Walter is in her 12th season at the helm of the program. Her best seasons in terms of records were 2007-08 and 2008-09, when the team made it to the first round of the regional championships in both years with 16-7 and 17-6 overall marks, respectively. She has coached many all-league and all-state players over the years, including Emy Hanna '09 (Hanover, Colo.), Wrendy Rayhill '09 (Collierville, Tenn.), and the School's all-time leading scorer Alex Ochoa '11 (Fountain, Colo.), who is now playing at Northeastern JC in Colorado.

"Paula has been fundamental in the development of our program and has inspired countless young women at FVS," Athletic Director Jennifer Joseph said. "With this 100th win marking a night of history in her coaching career, we are proud to have her as part of our coaching staff."

Walter goes for her 101st win Thursday night, Dec. 6, against Colorado Springs School at home.
