Our next class is Saturday, January 15th from 10 AM - 11:30 AM at Horace Mann Middle School, 1001 E. Van Buren St, on the corner of Templeton Gap and E. Van Buren. These 90 minute classes cost $5 per person.
Topics will include:
Larry's Favorite Varieties of Vegetables (many new for 2011!)
New! Planning for Perennial Vegetables: Rhubarb (not all varieties are equal), Asparagus (which varieties are best for our region) and Small Fruits (come and hear about a variety of raspberry that grows great and ripens in late June!)
New! Learn about Bio-intensive, Biodynamic Organic Gardening
Getting Started Planning and Building Extended Season Beds
Learn Optimal Spacing of Vegetables (larger production from less space without crowding). What we learned in 2010 at Harlan Wolfe Ranch
The first 25 new gardeners that enter will receive the DVD: "A Guide to Growing Vegetables in the Pikes Peak Region" (note: one per family)
There will be a drawing for many gardening related prizes at the end of the program.
Seating is limited to the first 300 that sign up. To reserve your spot please go to: www.ppugardens.org and click on "Register Now".
