Wind Power on UCCS Campus

What person does not want to lead a responsible lifestyle? What

community does not want to have a sustainable future? Where better to start than the Universities? That is what a group of UCCS students are trying to accomplish. Sustainability Seminar, is heading up a feasibility project to see wind turbines put on the Bluffs.

The plan is to determine the best wind turbine, location, and economic

possibilities available to meet the university’s aspirations. A wind turbine on the Bluffs would provide clean renewable energy for the campus. The energy generated would reduce the amount of nonrenewable energy used by UCCS and will also lower the energy expenses. The turbine will represent the involvement and obligation that UCCS has towards a more sustainable environment. If accomplished, UCCS will be the first university in Colorado to have a wind turbine. It will be something that the students, community, and Colorado Springs can be proud of.

We want to know what the community thinks about a wind turbine on

UCCS's campus. We would love to hear what you have to say, especially form the Austen Bluffs neighborhood. All comments, concerns, support and even resistance will be greatly appreciated.
