In July 2012, the El Paso County Department of Human Services shared the magnitude of teens in congregate care and the fact that a part of the problem was that there simply was not enough options available in the "housing" area. Well, I was traveling across the nation at that time, but when I returned home, I decided I would like to try to make a difference in that area. Currently, I am trying to heighten awareness of the problem in our own backyard and to offer a solution to that problem. The article was viewed in The Gazette and stirred my passion to help teens become healthy productive citizens they can. Housing is the primary issue. So Have a Heart and join us in the fight to end teen homelessness in Fountain and Colorado Springs. Today, our backyard and tomorrow the world.
